PAIN MEDICATIONS
Pain medications are typically used for several days to weeks after your frame application, and after other procedures that may be required.
It is our policy at the Coughlin Clinic to provide a prescription for pain medication upon discharge from the hospital and then 3 refills after that.
If you require more significant amounts of pain medication, we will then refer you to a pain management specialist on a case-by-case basis.
If you have chronic pain and are on pain medication prior to surgery, we may refer you to pain management prior to surgery or have your primary care provider dispense all pain medications. We wish to manage your pain in the safest and most effective way possible. Having multiple physicians prescribing pain medication for you is dangerous and illegal.
